About La Plata, Argentina

La Plata is the capital of the Province of Buenos Aires and has a total population of 654.324. Its primary economic activity is mainly centered around commerce and services, along with a growing heavy industrial zone.

La Plata’s electrification rate is over 97%, and electricity is the mainly used in households. Secondly, 87% of the population is connected to natural gas.

Currently, the main sources of electricity are the conventional fossil-fuel systems of the company EDELAP. There are some exceptions, including some public and private places that have solar panels, but they do not feed back into the grid.
