Community Energy
Community energy approaches can be an innovative way to involve communities in the energy transition, turning them from consumers into active participants through ownership or operation of energy projects, and resulting in a more inclusive and resilient pathway towards net-zero.
Different approaches to community energy development are being implemented globally, such as community-led initiatives that supply renewable energy to the grid and provide a source of income, or partnerships between communities and traditional energy actors such as local authorities, utilities, and private sector developers.
