West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB/WNT) province, with main islands Lombok and Sumbawa, pledged an ambitious target of 60% renewable energy in Lombok’s electricity system by 2030, 100% renewable energy in the whole province’s grid in 2040, and net zero emissions for all energy sectors by 2050. This commitment represents a pioneering initiative in Indonesia’s energy landscape.

Who are we?

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network working with more than 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development.

The 100% Renewables Cities and Regions Roadmap is implemented by ICLEI and funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI), which is implemented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and the Federal Foreign Office (AA).
